Värttinä celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, a testament to the group’s status as both a master of Finnish folk music and a pioneer in Finnish music export. With their album *Oi dai*, which broke musical boundaries in the 1990s and became a phenomenon, the ensemble has toured the world, earning praise for their virtuosity and innovative approach that honors tradition. Now, after a long break, the band is releasing a full new album of original music titled *Kyly*.
