The Unifics were a soul group formed in 1966 by students at Howard University, led by Al Johnson. Despite frequent lineup changes, they achieved success with the single “Court of Love,” which charted highly. The album Sittin’ In At the Court of Love was released by The Unifics in 1968 on Kapp Records. It followed the success of their debut single “Court of Love,” which reached No. 3 on the R&B chart and No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was noted for its rich soul sound, refined vocal arrangements, and the signature stage glamour that defined The Unifics.
