Kutsi Merki - Guvech (2025) [Hi-Res]

Kutsi Merki is a Montreal-based ensemble whose name means “crooked beats.” They blend traditional Bulgarian folk rhythms—especially those of the Thracian valley—with spontaneous jazz improvisation inspired by American jazz. Their sound fuses jazz and Bulgarian folk with psychedelic touches reminiscent of the “Balkan beat wave.”
