I Let The Wind Push Down On Me is the second album by Chicago indie rock band Moontype, led by bassist and vocalist Margaret McCarthy. Released on May 23, 2025 via Orindal Records, the album marks a reinvention for the band, both in lineup and emotional direction.

Following their 2021 debut Bodies of Water, Moontype expanded with new members Joe Suihkonen and Andrew Clinkman, forming a more collaborative and intuitive dynamic. Rather than focus on touring, they spent time jamming weekly, nurturing their sound and chemistry.

This new album is introspective and emotionally nuanced, exploring themes like loneliness, transformation, nostalgia, and self-acceptance. Songs such as “Long Country” and “Starry-Eyed” shift between delicate beauty and heavy, textured arrangements, while McCarthy’s lyrics reflect her journey through her twenties.
