Based in Buffalo in New York State, David Cloyd has enjoyed a decorated musical adventure that’s seen him become an indie cult hero. Revered for his ability to craft emotive, intricately layered compositions, he first arrived on the scene in 2009 with his debut album Unhand Me, You Fiend!, a project that showcased his independent spirit and pure musical talent. Written, recorded and produced entirely in his small Brooklyn apartment on a self-built computer, the album is a distilled his DIY ethos and creative vision into a celebrated work.

The album’s success was swift and surprising, catching the attention of Blake Morgan, founder of ECR Music Group, leading to a record deal that would propel David’s music to global audiences. The ten-track album quickly reached #1 on eMusic, the world’s second-largest streaming platform at the time and was featured in high-profile placements on popular TV shows like MTV’s Real World and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

A year later, Cloyd continued his rise with the release of I Could Disappear, a live-in-studio reimagining of his debut album. This second project confirmed his reputation as an exciting musician with an impeccable ear for live production. The performances on this album offered a fresh take on his earlier material, proving that his music was not just confined to the studio but could thrive in a more intimate, live setting.
