Refusal - Venomous Human Concept (2025) Hi-Res

Finnish death metal band Refusal is set to release their third full-length album, Venomous Human Concept, on June 6, 2025, through Time To Kill Records. Known for combining old-school death metal with grind and hardcore, the band continues its intense, riff-driven approach, this time with more sophisticated production and varied songwriting.

The title track and lead single, “Venomous Human Concept,” is described as an aggressive statement against ruling elites. A second single, “Congregation of the Eyeless,” integrates groove-heavy riffs with lyrical themes that critique collective societal apathy. Critics have noted the “blistering blast beats” and “gnarly, filthy tone,” while still acknowledging the memorability of the hooks and structure.

The album features ten tracks and continues the thematic arc set by their previous releases. Formed in 2008, Refusal previously released We Rot Within (2016) and Epitome of Void (2019), and has supported their work with extensive touring across Europe. Their current lineup includes Juhani Paasipohja (vocals), Tero Pirhonen and Kalle Kuosmanen (guitars), Timo Pirhonen (bass, backing vocals), and Aleksi Roitto (drums).
