Alexandre Herer - Bombay Experience (2025) [Hi-Res]

Bombay Experience is a boundary-pushing musical project uniting the rhythmic complexity of Carnatic classical music with the raw energy of Indian hip-hop. Featuring B.C. Manjunath, a master of mridangam and konnakol, and pioneering rapper Manmeet Kaur, the project blends tradition and innovation through intricate percussion and socially conscious lyrics. Initiated by French jazz composer Alexandre Herer after exploring Mumbai’s underground rap scene, the collaboration was formalized in 2024 at the Détours de Babel festival in France. The result is a unique fusion of Carnatic music, hip-hop, and jazz, creating a powerful and original musical dialogue.
