Australian garage rock trio Plastic Section—Ben Edwards (vocals, guitar,) Pip McMullan (bass), and Sue Shaw (drums)—are back at the front for Revenge, and there’s no escaping them. They fire fourteen fiery rock ‘n’ roll tunes at you—raucous rockabilly mixed with raw rhythm & blues, possessed vocals on dirty riffs and stomping beats, played with the intensity of a packed live show—like a gritty soundtrack for midnight mayhem. There are covers of Tooter Boatman & The Chapparals (Thunder & Lightning), The Big Bopper (White Lightning), The Outcasts (Seven Deadly Sins), and Link Wray (Deuces Wild), but the self-penned tracks generate just as much sweat on the ceiling. The sound of vengeance has rarely been so much fun.
