Rudolph “Rudy” Robinson (1940–2002) was a key figure in Detroit’s soul and R&B scene. Starting his musical journey in army jazz bands, he went on to become arranger, organist, songwriter, and music director for D-Town Records, contributing to nearly every release. Later, he co-founded his own label, Ram-Brock, producing regional hits. His musical footprint extended to numerous labels and artists, including The Dramatics, and he remained a central force in Detroit’s music scene until his death in 2002.
