Mysterious disco outfit Jiri Jiri deliver their essential debut EP Give Me Disco – Vol. 1, a four-track journey of summery European cool hand-picked by DJ Kobayashi for Batov Records’ new “Give Me Disco” 12” series. Emerging from global-grooves ensemble Muito Kaballa and psychedelic duo YĪN YĪN, Jan Janzen and Niklas Mündemann honed their craft in Naples—where Jan studied piano for a year—and channeled the city’s vibrant pulse and Nu Genea’s influence. “Gino” opens with breezy percussion, guitar, bass, flute and synth; “Senza Benza” ramps up with Afro-disco rhythms and Azymuth-style synths; “L’amour” layers Anglo-French vocals celebrating love’s highs and lows; and closing track “Lummo Luvva” showcases pure instrumental flair. The EP not only introduces Jiri Jiri but also inaugurates Batov Records’ inspired disco series.
