Unfortunately, the Bruckner symphony collection, recorded from 1986 to 1990, the final period of Otmar Suitner's career (May 16, 1922 - January 8, 2010), who virtually retired from conducting in 1990, consists of only five pieces. only was left. Initially, he seems to have aimed to compose a complete collection of symphonies, but since then, due to health problems, he resigned as general director of the Staatskapelle Berlin in 1990, and was virtually unable to perform any conducting activities. Bruckner and Brahms, who he left behind at the Berlin Classics in his final years, left behind a large-scale performance that seemed to sum up Suitner's career. Among them, Bruckner had not been recorded in a session until then, and it was a sound source that was welcomed by listeners at a time when Bruckner's performances and recordings were increasing worldwide.
This time, we have been converting ETERNA's analog recordings to SACD, but there are many recordings that are suitable for high quality sound among the sound sources that have been introducing digital recording since 1985, much later than other labels. For this reason, we decided to use Christoph Stickel's mastering as well as analog recording. Although his mastering method is a digital sound source, the process is not that different from analog recording, and he uses the original "U-Matic tapes" originally in his home country (currently there are very few playback facilities in the world). We have adopted a method of first converting the data to analog (from 2000) and then remastering it in the analog domain as before. As a result, even though the recording method of the original master was different, we were able to perform SACD conversion without any discomfort compared to mastering with a conventional analog master. Please check the sound quality.
