After living in Stefano Amerio's house for a week, the Polish guitarist decided to rent an apartment with a sea view in Trieste in order to compose new songs and seek inspiration. As he explains in the annotation, it was in the Julian city that Maciek made the decision he had been thinking about for a long time: it was finally time to create his long-awaited first solo album, and in light of the results achieved, we can say that the silence and the sea of Trieste definitely inspired him. All the songs selected for this album are his own compositions, with the exception of two gentle and captivating melodies taken from two film soundtracks: one from the Paradiso Cinema, the theme of Andrea Morricone's love, the other from the 1951 film of the same name, Under the Sky of Paris, which quickly became a symbol of French culture. the capitals, first of all, thanks to the historic performances of Juliette Greco, Edith Piaf and Yves Montand. But the guitarist's compositions also seem particularly beautiful and expressive, starting with four different episodes of Sketch (the third one, Sea Blues, is especially interesting), passing through hypnotic and nostalgic Trieste, dedicated to the city that hosted him, but not forgetting Reflections, which are more lively and no less successful. The magical intertwining of the strings of four guitars used in this recording was further enhanced by the overdubbing technique, which Macek demonstrates with his ability to use effectively and subtly.
