This release presents the complete trio albums made by the legendary pianist Sonny Clark for the Blue Note label, along with all of the alternate takes from those dates. They consist of three sessions recorded in 1957-58, and feature such stars as bassists Paul Chambers and Jymie Merritt (the latter well known for his long tenure with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers), and drummer Philly Joe Jones.

As a bonus, we have added Clark's complete trio album for the Time label, taped in 1960 with George Duvivier on bass, and Max Roach on drums. While the Blue Note recordings were a collection of versions of standards, the Time LP consists exclusively of Sonny Clark compositions.
