Jazz saxophonist Aoi Murakoshi's second album, "Out of the Blue," is now available! Murakoshi has been active since her junior high and high school days, winning third place in the "Super Saxophone Contest 2022 Alto Edition" hosted by Sax World and the Berklee Award at the "Youth Jam Session 2022" held by Sapporo City Jazz. Last year, upon graduating from high school, she made her CD debut with her first album, "BiCOLORE.", released by Trilogic. That same year, she received a Presidential Scholarship (full tuition and boarding fees waived) to study at Berklee College of Music in the United States. Currently, he has been selected by Grammy Award-winning drummer Terri Lynn Carrington and is actively working despite being a student, having performed at the Panama Jazz Festival in Panama.
As with his previous album, the album "Out of the Blue" features Etsushi Ogawa as producer, with recording members Jun Tomoda, Yoshihiro Kaneko, and Genki Hashimoto. The album also features three original tracks, including the title track "Out of the Blue," written specifically for this album, and "Hill," inspired by the phrases of trumpeter Marquis Hill, his teacher at Berklee College of Music. The album also includes five covers, including "Downtime" by five-time Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Robert Glasper and "Liquid Streets" by trumpeter Roy Hargrove, for a total of eight tracks.
