Earth Surface People - Yáágo Dootliźh (2025) [Hi-Res]

The album is an ambitious attempt to combine the spirituality and cosmogony of the Dine people with contemporary mythology and the experiences of indigenous peoples through the lens of R&B, fusion, and soul. The project explores how ancient deities and symbols continue to live in the modern world and how these ideas can be brought back into the community.
Twenty musicians participated in the recording, 18 of whom are indigenous, including members of historically feuding tribes. This collective approach emphasizes a departure from the Western myth of individuality. The album's sound palette is extremely rich and includes saxophone, bass, flutes, cello, violin, synthesizers, Rhodes piano, grand piano, Spanish and electric guitar, percussion, and even non-traditional instruments.
