Dub FX, Mr Woodnote - OPEN SECRET SOCIETY (2025) [Hi-Res]

After years of collaborating on the street, in the studio and on the stage, DUB FX and WOODNOTE, have joined together for their debut full-length collaborative album, “Open Secret Society.” Every track blends DUB FX’s melodic vocals and WOODNOTE’s dynamic brass arrangements over heavy beats and warm baselines.

The album’s sound is a fusion of Hip Hop, Reggae, Jazz, Afro, and DnB, a result of the duo’s long history in various bands and their shared passion for bass culture and festival music. The creative process was organic, with the pair often just “sitting around a piano or an MPC.” Many of the brass parts were recorded spontaneously while on the road or in their home studios in Bristol and Lisbon, giving the music an authentic, live feel.
