"this is how we move through time." is the debut album and artbook from guitarist/composer Ross Clowser - coming out on Aura Vortex Records on Sept 12th 2025. Featuring material written over the last 5 years, beginning in the quarantine days of 2020 through the early days of 2025, “this is how we move through time.” is a sonic documentation of change, growth, and experimentation.

Drawing on a myriad of different influences, including jazz, free improvisation, post-rock, minimalism, afrobeat, and more, “this is how we move through time.” is a kaleidoscope of styles, sounds, and approaches. Carefully constructed, yet open to new interpretations, each composition on the album provides a jumping off point for a group of incredible improvising musicians to find new ground together. Featuring Ross Clowser on guitar, Joe Strachan on piano, Josh Granowski on bass, and Tarek Abdelqader on drums, the album emphasises individual contributions to a cohesive, vibrant group sounds - because after all, that’s how we move through time - together.
