Blue Lake - The Animal (2025) [Hi-Res]

In his new, most ambitious album, TheAnimal, Jason Dungan's Blue Lake project transitions from solo work to a collective effort with a full band. The album explores two central ideas: the power of human collaboration and an ecological connection to the world, where the human is seen as an integral part of the animal kingdom, not as the pinnacle of a hierarchy. The record's sound has become significantly bolder and more vibrant, enriched by strings, woodwinds, and drums that complement Dungan's signature zither. For the first time, wordless vocals are also used, reminiscent of birdsong and serving as another instrument. Built on improvisation and shared creativity, TheAnimal is a musical metamorphosis that celebrates fleeting moments of togetherness and universal connection.
