The American experimental collective Weirs presents the album Diamond Grove, a deep exploration of traditional music recorded on a historic 18th-century farm in Virginia. The group reimagines old American ballads and hymns, combining them with elements of noise, drone, and musique concrète. Instead of striving for authentic purity, Weirs use the surrounding environment—from the natural reverb of a silo to the crackle of a fire—as an integral part of the music.
