Various Artists - Imaginational Anthem volume XIV : Ireland (2025)

Guitarist Cian Nugent curated the fourteenth volume of the Tompkins Square label's 'Imaginational Anthem' series, titled 'Imaginational Anthem vol. XIV : Ireland'. This release, which features leading Irish acoustic guitarists, emphasizes that Ireland is a rich source of solo acoustic guitar talent, beyond its recent international successes. The compilation's release coincides with the 20th Anniversary of Tompkins Square, which launched on October 25th, 2005, with the first volume of the 'Imaginational Anthem' series. Early volumes featured key figures like James Blackshaw and Jack Rose, and rediscovered earlier masters such as Suni McGrath and Michael Chapman. Subsequent volumes were curated by various musicians, including Ryley Walker and Luke Schneider. Nugent, who himself appeared as a teenager on the cover of 'Imaginational Anthem vol. 3', provided liner notes for IAXIV, highlighting each artist and humorously framing the acoustic guitar's role in Irish music history.
