Pierre Carbonneaux - BRIBES (2025) [Hi-Res]

27-year-old saxophonist Pierre Carbonneaux has released his debut album, "Bribes" ("Fragments"), with his quintet L'Autour. The record is an ambitious impressionistic suite dedicated to the theme of memory. In it, original compositions inspired by the work of John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman are skillfully intertwined with fragments of French songs from the musician's childhood memories. Using complex arrangements and sound effects, Carbonneaux creates a sophisticated and emotional work that critics have already called a small masterpiece, noting its intelligence and sensitivity.
