Shiho Yabuki - Pastoral Wind (2025)

Shiho Yabuki's 1990 album "Pastoral Wind" is an ambient work created to relax the mind and body using the concept of "environmental aesthetics." The album's music is based on "1/f fluctuation" (pink noise), a sound characteristic found in natural sounds like babbling brooks or birdsong, which provides a comfortable state by being neither chaotic nor monotonous. This "Sound Aesthetics" concept has been researched and proven effective in reducing stress. In addition to the music, the project includes a scent designed to replicate the aroma of the countryside. Scientific studies have confirmed that its main components, monoterpenes, help reduce fatigue. Shiho Yabuki herself is a composer who, after a journey through classical music and jazz-fusion, focused on creating environmental music inspired by nature.
