The "BEFORE BACH" project, founded by Breton folklore master Erik Marchand and rock-blues guitarist Rodolphe Burger, is a musical experiment that merges traditional modal music with atmospheric blues-rock. Launched in 2004, the project explores the universality of musical languages, creating a unique genre at the intersection of two different worlds. Their collaboration, supported by a rock rhythm section, reveals an unexpected kinship between Breton songs and the blues. In 2019, the duo resumed work on a new repertoire, continuing to deepen this creative fusion.
