Sonny Singh, Qais Essar - Sangat (2025) [Hi-Res]

Afghan American musician Qais Essar (rabab) and Sikh American artist Sonny Singh (trumpet, vocals) have created a collaborative musical project. Their work combines the ancient Afghan melodies of the rabab with Punjabi vocals and trumpet parts, drawing inspiration from the mystical poetry of Sikh, Sufi, and bhakti traditions. The debut album 'SANGAT' is named after the Sikh term for 'beloved community.' The project's music aims to promote unity, solidarity, and healing in response to growing societal division and attacks on marginalized groups.
