Ethan Setiawan - Across the Great Divide, vol. 1 (2024) [Hi-Res]

Mandolinist Ethan Setiawan is releasing the instrumental ambient album "Across the Great Divide, vol. 1" on January 24th. The project is inspired by the nature of the American West and is based on field recordings collected by Setiawan during a US road trip amid the pandemic. Unlike simple textural backgrounds, natural sounds (wind, water) are integrated into the music's compositional foundation. Working on the album solo, Setiawan created a deeply personal work where the mandolin remains the central instrument. The music combines elements of bluegrass, Celtic music, jazz, funk, and progressive acoustic music, filtered through the artist's individual vision.
