James Cotton, a legendary blues harmonica player known for his work with artists like Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters (where he replaced Little Walter), released his debut album as a leader in 1967. Recorded in New York and issued on Verve Folkways, this release marked the beginning of his solo career which continued until his passing in 2017. The album is a masterpiece featuring covers of songs by Bobby Bland, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter, and others, and highlights Cotton's warm, appealing style. The edition includes two bonus tracks.
