The Mynabirds - It's Okay To Go Back If You Keep Moving Forward (2025) [Hi-Res]

"It's Okay To Go Back If You Keep Moving Forward" is The Mynabirds' fifth full-length album and the first release on frontwoman Laura Burhenn’s own label, Our Secret Handshake. The album features three new compositions alongside seven reimagined, acoustic versions of previously released Mynabirds songs. It was recorded at 64 Sound with producer Pierre de Reeder (Rilo Kiley). The album was tracked live, capturing grand piano and vocals along with the other instrumentation in real-time, without overdubs, autotune, or digital manipulation, resulting in a deliberately "raw" and "human" feel. Laura Burhenn describes the process as an "ego death" and a return to her most basic songwriting method—at the piano, using music as therapy. The album is scheduled for release on November 7, 2025.
