Last time we saw Santah, they were floating down the Chicago river and into Lake Michigan for what was supposed to be their final farewell show. Now, 10 years after their last offering, Santah returns with LAST WHIRLPOOL, the full-length record landing in late 2025.
Recorded over a long weekend in the summer of 2024, the kinetic collection of new songs captures the band feeling loose and feeling themselves. Messy and honest, the album tells the (true) tale of extraterrestrials who land on Earth and learn that love hurts. Blissfully unequipped for all of the pleasure and pain on their newfound Neverland, they are eager to taste it all. So they learn how to do the dance, love recklessly, and fall for human touch again and again.
On LAST WHIRLPOOL, Santah dives in headfirst and unabashedly embraces the weird romance of it all, delivering some real emotional bangers and shiny barnburners in the process.
Before playing their last show in 2017, Santah spent much of the decade prior touring the country and sharing their dreamy indie rock from releases like WHITE NOISE BED (2010), YOU’RE STILL A LOVER (2012), and CHICO (2015). They’ve since stayed lifelong friends, have sang in each other’s weddings, and have continued creating music via many different avenues (like V.V. Lightbody, The Curls, Valebol, Lake Soda, BAUGS, Fernando House, Morning Hues, and Family of Geniuses).
This November, Santah will come together for a few special shows to celebrate bringing LAST WHIRLPOOL to life.
