The album "Solo" is a landmark solo release by the late kora master and griot from Senegal, Solo Cissokho, released by the Global Sonics label. Recorded in Norway in 2003, this is the first and only project where Cissokho performs entirely solo, without collaborators, allowing listeners to fully appreciate his virtuoso command of the instrument, vocal skill, and deep knowledge of West African traditions.
