Born in the province of Rome in the summer of 1972, Sigmund Freud immediately turned to the cultured rock of the "pop" groups of the time (Banco, Orme, PFM), as evidenced by their passionate participation in some of the most characteristic gatherings/festivals of the time (Villa Pamphili, Villa Ada, Conca D'Oro). Despite having recorded for RCA and EMI, the formation still fails to materialize the intentions, dissolving in 1978 without handing over to history any phonographic support in their own name.

The work is the daughter of the 70s, both as regards the sounds, devoted to a romantic prog of an almost fairy-tale mold, although close to the peninsular singing tradition, both for the themes treated, included in the range ranging from social commitment to civic sensitivity: drugs ("Flowers of White Powder"), violence ("Snowball"), unattainable utopias ("Epilogue"), the desire for affirmation ("The Quiet after the Storm") are typical themes of that decade, characterized by great ferments and renewed emotional involvement.
The sound range is perfectly poised between song formula and progressive rock with a dreamy vocation, on the basis, for example, of what was done in the past by Ut (those of "Homo" and "The road was beautiful") or, to quote a decidedly more established group, by the Pooh of "Opera Prima" and "Parsifal".
The tracklist is completed by" Shadow Games", a sweet romantic ballad, and" Freud 70's Medle Med
