Svetlana Andreeva - Mysteria (Live) (2025) Hi-Res

Following awarding Prizes, the Competition supports its winners in the development of their careers as professional pianists. Amongst activities undertaken, special attention is given to the recording of a CD of an original project.

Svetlana Andreeva is a unique artist whose playing combines expressiveness, creativity and meticulous analysis. Her artistic sensibility quite naturally steered us towards the programme on her CD Mysteria, which makes a centrepiece of In the Mists, a work which Leoš Janáček composed in 1912 at an especially difficult time in his life. Marked by the loss of his daughter Olga and lack of recognition for his music, Janáček gives expression in it to a profound inner quest.

This work, which serves as the album’s common thread, conjures up the exploration of uncertain terrain: the outlines are vague, the colours can be made out rather than standing out, and that sonic mistappears to bring us closer to a more personal truth, deeply touching our soul and perception.
