Caro Lee - The Funk City Jam (2025) Hi Res

"The Funk City Jam" is Caroline Clement's solo project under the name Caro Lee. She began recording her first demo tracks in 2022, together with her musical partner and musician Luc Waegeman (Wagonman) at her home in Geraardsbergen. Using a Yamaha RX5 rhythm programmer, a bass guitar, a Microkorg, a microphone (SM58), and Caroline's cool, creative (eighties) vocal melodies and harmonies, the first songs were recorded in 2022.

It was during this recording process that the first songs began to take shape. The first pre-production sessions took place with Geert Vanbever at Ghosttown Studio in early 2023, where pilot vocals were recorded for six songs and further song structures were developed. Almost organically, the duo turned to keyboardist/producer Jan Borré for keyboards. Jan was already playing keyboards for Caroline's new wave tribute band, Echo City Waves, and also proved to be the perfect producer for the Caro Lee album she had in mind.

Gradually, the compositions and songs grew in number and were recorded as demos at home during 2023 and 2024. They then worked on the rest together in Jan's home studio, arranging and producing the album.
