Gegründet vor genau 60 Jahren von Menahem Pressler, Daniel Guilet und Bernard Greenhouse, nahm das Beaux Arts Trio exklusiv für Philips Classics auf und zwar bis 1995. Gefeiert für ihre herausragenden Kammermusikfähigkeiten, ist das Beaux Arts Trio eines der großartigsten Ensembles in der Aufnahme-Geschichte. Diese besondere, limitierte 60 Alben Box enthält sämtliche Aufnahmen für Philips und nahezu das gesamte Repertoire für Klaviertrio.

Die einmalige Edition enthält jeweils die kompletten Klaviertrio-Zyklen von Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms und Dvorák. Andere Höhepunkte sind die legendären Aufnahmen von Beethovens Tripel-Konzert und Trios von Ravel, Chopin, Korngold und Rachmaninoff.

Das Trio wurde wiederholt mit Preisen ausgezeichnet, darunter: Prix Mondial du Disque, dreimal Grand Prix du Disques, Union de la Presse Musicale Belge Caecilia Award, Gramophone Record of the Year, Stereo Review Record of the Year Award. Ihre Aufnahme der Haydn-Trios wurde mit dem Recording of the Year der Gramophone Awards ausgezeichnet und Menahem Presler, dem Pianisten des Trios, wurde der Gramophone’s Lifetime Achievement Award verliehen.

What is a piano trio? Either it s a pianist accompanied by two strings, two string players accompanied by a piano, or three soloists. That was the perception when the Beaux Arts began.
