Kibrom Birhane - LISANÉ BAHIR (2025)

Kibrom Birhane's fourth album, "Lisane Bahir," represents a pioneering experiment within the Ethio-jazz genre, merging ancient musical traditions with a futuristic aesthetic. A distinctive feature of the record is the complete absence of digital instruments; the entire body of work was composed and recorded exclusively using the Studio 110 analog modular synthesizer. Following two years of experimentation and preparation, the project was finalized during a one-month session with the support of Flying Carpet Records. The vocals of Esy Tadesse serve as a crucial element, adding emotional depth to the mechanical synthesizer soundscapes. "Lisane Bahir" is positioned as a sonic manifesto exploring the synthesis of technology and Ethiopian cultural heritage.
