With TEAR, Nairobi-based artist and producer Rushab Nandha presents a meticulous deconstruction of aesthetic ideals less a collection of tracks, more a conceptual design study rendered through sound. “An evolution of ideals, an exercise in design, and an exploration of the elasticity of form,” Nandha explains, “TEAR, in its pursuit of beauty, is a reminder that fragility is a virtue.”

Familiar textures and conventional audio materials are distilled into delicate forms to the point of abstraction. They are then reframed, recontextualized, resampled pushed to the edge of their sonic integrity. What emerges are systems of subtle dissonance and cohesion.
