Senegalese artist Puppa Lëk Sèn has released his seventh studio album, Jèem ("To Try"). The record, grounded in the roots reggae genre, features eight original tracks and two dub versions, recorded with professional musicians and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Laurent Dupuy. The lyrical content combines spiritual guidance and the teachings of Marcus Garvey with critical social commentary, addressing issues such as youth internet addiction and the tragic history of Senegalese Tirailleurs during World War II.

Performed primarily in Wolof, with elements of English and French, the album features guest appearances by artists Ilam, Jhonel, and Elom 20ce. The musical arrangement is enriched with traditional African instruments, including the kora and balafon, while the album art symbolizes the return of the African diaspora to their motherland. Jèem is a deeply spiritual body of work that synthesizes the artist's personal history with African cultural heritage.
