New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble - Skallaborations (2025)

Founded in 1994 in New York as a supergroup comprising members of iconic bands such as The Toasters and The Skatalites, the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble (NYSJE) is celebrating thirty years of artistic activity. The ensemble's style is defined by a fusion of ska, jazz, reggae, and rocksteady. Over the course of its career, the group has released over a dozen albums and achieved international recognition through performances at major jazz festivals.

The new 2025 release titled "SKALLABORATIONS," distributed by Jump Up Records, serves as a compilation of the group's finest vocal collaborations recorded throughout its history. Released on limited edition blue vinyl, the album features guest appearances by artists including Tommy McCook, members of Hepcat, and Sharon Jones. Band leader Rock Steady Freddie describes this 16th album as a tribute to numerous musical partners and a symbol of the group's continuous evolution.
