Maguaré - Cumbia Insomnia (2018)

Based in Belgium, the ensemble Maguaré is a Belgo-Colombian-Chilean project established in 2009. The eleven-piece collective, led by singer Paola Márquez, performs music in a style described as "Banda Cumbia." Their sound is inspired by Colombian orchestras of the 50s and 60s, characterized by a powerful horn section and authentic percussion.

On their debut album, the band transcends traditional cumbia by integrating elements of jazz and hip-hop into their compositions. Critics (Platomania) highlight the group's ingenious arrangements and the spirited atmosphere of their music.
