David Shea - Meditations (2026) [Hi-Res]

The "Meditations" cycle consists of eight compositions exploring the authentic experience of meditative practice by juxtaposing spiritual tranquility with the chaos of daily cognition. Drawing on fragments of the Heart Sutra, the project reframes meditation as a complex global tradition and a vital tool for mental health, rather than a mere mythologized symbol of peace. Serving as a conceptual successor to the 2015 album "Rituals," the work emphasizes live group synergy and active listening. The collection features a bonus "Metta Mix" recorded in the Second Life virtual environment, reflecting the author’s personal practice and the concept of technological connectivity through sound.
