Christopher Hoffman - REX (2026)

Cellist Christopher Hoffman’s debut solo album, "REX," is a dedicated tribute to the avian artist Rex Brasher. Recorded within Brasher’s former residence, the work integrates acoustic and electric cello through complex layering and looping techniques. The compositions examine themes of solitude and the continuity of artistic vision. The project was inspired by Hoffman’s relocation from Brooklyn and encouraged by Henry Threadgill, resulting in a 13-track collection entirely produced by the artist within the historical context of the Brasher estate.
