The album "Las Vegas Tango" is an eclectic musical journey where violinist and composer Meg Okura blurs the lines between genres and cultures. Collaborating with The Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble, Okura creates a unique soundscape that fuses jazz improvisation with the aesthetics of classical chamber music and Japanese folk traditions. The repertoire includes bold reimaginings of jazz standards (Gil Evans, John Coltrane), renowned classical works (Sarasate, Schumann), as well as original compositions. A distinctive atmosphere is crafted through a rich instrumental palette, featuring shinobue flute, erhu, and cajón alongside traditional jazz instruments.
