Veronika Varga - True Picture (2025)

Hungarian artist Veronika Varga’s debut album, True Picture, presents an intimate synthesis of Hungarian and Greek folklore. The recording is built upon a minimalist combination of vocals and double bass, through which the artist explores themes of love, motherhood, and existential inquiry. Drawing on a decade of experience in Balkan and Mediterranean ensembles, Varga creates an authentic yet contemporary sound, merging traditions from diverse regions—ranging from Transylvania to the Dodecanese Islands. The album is framed as a musical self-portrait that explores the boundaries between dream and reality through the lens of traditional folk song.
