The Randy’s Records 50th Anniversary Anthology highlights the pivotal role of Vincent "Randy" Chin in the evolution of Jamaican music during the 1960s. Having started his career by reselling discarded jukebox records, Chin established a shop and studio that served as a commercial catalyst, elevating ska and reggae to international prominence. The collection features rare recordings by legendary artists such as Bob Marley and The Skatalites. Chin’s entrepreneurial efforts laid the groundwork for VP Records, which evolved from a modest family enterprise into the world’s leading modern reggae label.
