The Turkish-Dutch ensemble Altın Gün has released their sixth studio album, Garip, a dedicated tribute to the legendary Turkish folk bard Neşet Ertaş. The record reimagines the classical heritage of Anatolian folklore by blending it with contemporary genres. In this new release, the musicians have significantly expanded their sonic palette, incorporating elements of Arabesque string arrangements, 80s indie rock, synth ballads, and even nods to Bollywood soundtracks.

The band members perceive Turkish traditional music as a national form of the blues, conveying profound longing and personal narratives. The album is described as the group's most eclectic and mature work to date, shifting away from their signature high-energy psychedelic rock toward more subtle atmospheric arrangements and stylistic diversity.
