UK band TIN SPIRITS where formed in 2008 when guitarist Daniel Steinhardt invited former XTC guitarist Dave Gregory to an amp shoot-out event at a local studio, with bassist Mark Kilminster and drummer Doug Mussard from Daniel's own band The Hi-Fidels catering for the additional instrumentation. The foursome enjoyed the experience so much that they decided that they wanted to continue working together, the result of which became the band Tin Spirits.
Since then they have been an active band unit, initially playing cover tunes but fairly soon expanding their scope with original music. Two full length albums have been released by the band at the time of writing - Wired to Earth in 2011 and Scorch in 2014 - both albums released through prestigious UK label Esoteric Records. Tin Spirits have quickly established themselves as a popular entity both as a recording and as a live unit, 2014 becoming something of a breakthrough year for them with numerous nominations for album of the year awards around the world.
The album is characterized by a melodic sound with an emphasis on guitar parts, combining influences of classic 70s prog (Genesis, Rush) and the modern scene (Porcupine Tree, Big Big Train).
