The film follows a team of American and Serbian agents dispatched to rural Eastern Serbia after an American satellite crash-lands there, only to discover something far stranger than wreckage. Cleopatra Records, a Los Angeles-based independent label known for championing gothic, industrial, and psychedelic rock, served both as US distributor of the film and publisher of its soundtrack.
The album assembles a striking gallery of rock and electronic veterans. Its centerpiece tracks are two Pink Floyd covers: "Us and Them," performed by John Wetton (Asia, King Crimson) alongside Dweezil Zappa and Tony Kaye (Yes), and "Brain Damage," interpreted by Robby Krieger (The Doors) with Colin Moulding (XTC) and Geoff Downes (Asia/Yes). Prog titans Nektar, Nik Turner (co-founder of Hawkwind), Rick Wakeman (Yes) paired with Jürgen Engler (Die Krupps), Brainticket, and Chrome represent the European and American progressive rock and psychedelia lineage. Industrial and gothic electronics come via Leæther Strip, The Anix, and Echolust, while A Flock of Seagulls' re-recorded "I Ran (So Far Away)" closes the album with an unexpected new wave coda.
A notable curiosity is the Guru Freakout contribution "Notre Dame (Mothership)" in its specially edited five-minute version — trimmed from an original thirty-one-minute piece recorded in collaboration with Mani Neumeier of legendary krautrock band Guru Guru.
