Scottish-Korean cellist Su-a Lee's debut album comprises fifteen duos with leading Scottish and international musicians — fiddlers, pianists, singers, a harper, a bandoneonist, and a fellow cellist. Recorded during pandemic lockdown, the project was built through remote exchanges of recordings across Scotland, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, and Finland. Conceptually, the album explores the distinctive voice of each collaborator while asserting the cello's deep-rooted but long-overlooked place in Scottish folk tradition. It is ultimately both a personal artistic statement and a meditation on musical dialogue.
