Deep Cuts & B Sides: Teen Idols, Vol. 2 is the second instalment of Fervor Records' twin digital release, issued alongside Vol. 1 on June 19, 2015. The collection deepens the label's archival expedition into early 1960s American regional pop, introducing Jim Boyd — whose 1963 Take Ten Records single "Don't Ask for More" stands as one of the label's key archive finds — alongside returning contributors Frank Fafara, Denny Reed, Patti LaSalle, and Nick Landers, as well as Judy Lunn and Gary Trexler. Fafara's two contributions capture different facets of his persona: the swaggering "Lovemaker Lovebreaker" and the remorseful "I'm So Sorry Now." The triple presence of Denny Reed, the dual outings of both Patti LaSalle and Gary Trexler, and the closing weight of LaSalle's "It's Over" — her 1960 MCI Records single — give the compilation the feeling of a genuine scene portrait. The short, punchy pop numbers, tightly fitted to the 45-rpm single format, embody the unaffected optimism and teenage romanticism that defined the era.
