Based on Andy Weir's 2021 bestselling novel, the film stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a scientist who wakes on an interstellar spacecraft with retrograde amnesia and must piece together his mission: identify and stop the mysterious substance slowly draining the Sun. The film grossed $148 million worldwide and received strong critical acclaim.
