Strutz - Through The Ages (2013)

There was a time when British AOR & Melodic Rock was a much revered genre loved by many and played by skilled musicians across the country. Some bands got to live the dream, getting their fifteen minutes of fame, whilst others never had the chance to let the world listen to their – often spectacular – sound.

Hailing from Manchester, the story of STRUTZ is an all too familiar tale of mismanagement and what could have been. After a couple of singles (released during 1985 and 1986, and here reissued on CD from the master-tapes), it was the emergence of acts like FM, Shy and Bon Jovi that shaped the bands definitive sound.
They’ve got great production, fantastic keyboards and superb guitar playing.

During 1988 STRUTZ recorded the near-legendary ‘white label’ album, an album that was limited to only 500 vinyl copies and made all the rarer due to most of them being destroyed in a fire.
All these songs, including some final demos recorded 1989 are featured here as STRUTZ “Through The Ages“.

What you have here is PURE UK AOR in the best tradition of the genre.
